What is a road charge?
Road charge is an innovative funding mechanism that allows drivers to support road maintenance based on the distance they travel or the period of time they use the roads, rather than the amount of gasoline they consume.
What is the California Road Charge Pilot Program?
California launched the nation’s largest alternative highway funding pilot program on July 1st, 2016. This 9-month field trial gives participants a variety of choices for reporting and simulating payment for the miles they travel during the pilot period.
